Texel Takes to the Thames: Rowing for The AHOY Centre

Last week, 34 Texel staff and 26 underwriters came together to take on an exciting challenge on the River Thames in support of The AHOY Centre – a charity we are proud to champion for its work transforming young lives through sailing and water-based activities.

We had a fantastic afternoon on the water, completing the 10-mile row in an impressive 1 hour 30 minutes. With beautiful weather, spirits were high – although the conditions tested us, with choppy water and some sizeable waves adding to the challenge!

This event was about more than just challenging ourselves physically. The AHOY Centre plays a vital role in building confidence, skills and opportunities for young people across Lewisham, Tower Hamlets and Greenwich. Supporting their work is something we feel strongly about, and it made every stroke that much more meaningful.

A huge thank you to everyone at the Texel Group and our friends across the market who took part, came to cheer us on from London Bridge, or generously supported the effort. We are also incredibly grateful to The AHOY Centre team for their expert guidance and for keeping us safe on the water.
